Das Panorama zeigt eine große, geschichtete rot-orange Sandsteinformation neben einem felsigen Wüstencanyon im Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. Spärliche Wüstensträucher, rote Felsrücken und ein tiefblauer Himmel prägen diese Landschaft im Süden Nevadas.
Geschichte
Die Aufnahme bietet einen Blick aus Bodennähe auf einen markanten Sandsteinaufschluss, der die linke Seite eines felsigen Wüstenwegs rahmt. Rote Felsrücken im Hintergrund, niedrige Sträucher, sandiger Boden und der klare blaue Himmel veranschaulichen den geologischen Charakter der Mojave-Wüstenregion im Süden Nevadas. Die Landschaft wurde am 25. September 2011 fotografiert.
