Description
This panoramic landscape photograph looks across Flaming Gorge Reservoir from an elevated hillside in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area of northeastern Utah. Layered red, rust, tan, and gray cliffs surround the blue water, while dry autumn grass and scattered shrubs add foreground depth.
Story
The reservoir curves through the lower and middle sections of the panorama, leading toward rugged red, orange, tan, and gray cliffs along the far shoreline. A small rocky islet, scattered shrubs, dark green trees, and a distant plateau add depth to the scene. The photograph was captured on October 19, 2017, from Forest Road 92 in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Daggett County, Utah.
