Story
The stitched panorama captures rounded and sharply folded sedimentary hills with visible ochre, tan, yellow, orange, rust, brown, and muted gray bands. Deep erosion channels create sweeping lines across the formations, while lower hills and a distant mountain ridge extend beneath the open blue sky. The location is within the Painted Hills Unit of John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, accessed from Bear Creek Road in Wheeler County.
