Captured on 9 October 2012, the image looks across the arid terrain of southeastern Utah’s Colorado Plateau from an elevated viewpoint. Rust-red earth, shrubs, scattered stones, and a deep canyon lead toward the prominent mesa and distant ridges, while soft autumn light filters beneath extensive clouds. The location is supported by GPS and reverse-geocoded as Upheaval Dome Road in San Juan County, within the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park.
