Story
The wide street-level composition documents a distinctive built-up scene in Dawson City. Red-orange, pink, green, turquoise, yellow, blue, and coral facades stretch across the frame, with decorative rooflines, white-trimmed windows, porches, balconies, exterior stairs, utility poles, and overhead wires. Wet pavement and standing water create subdued reflections beneath an overcast sky. A central sign appears to read “Gertie’s,” but smaller lettering is not clearly legible.
