Story
Viewed from the Cliff Palace viewpoint on Cliff Palace Trail, the image shows a broad archaeological settlement set within a recessed sandstone alcove. Connected stone and earthen rooms, circular recessed structures, terraces, low walls and partially preserved towers occupy the sunlit foreground and shadowed interior. Captured in autumn, the scene combines warm sandstone tones, muted vegetation and strong light-and-shadow contrast.
