Barrel Cactus on Rings Loop Trail | Mojave Desert
A large reddish barrel-shaped cactus dominates the foreground of this arid landscape on Rings Loop Trail in the Hole-in-the-Wall area of Mojave National Preserve. Layered red-brown rock formations, sparse shrubs, dry grasses, and a clear blue sky create strong environmental context. Captured in autumn 2011.
