A broad summer mountain panorama viewed from the grassy highland slopes of Monte Pic above Santa Cristina Valgardena in South Tyrol, Italy. Rocky alpine terrain, flowering plants, forested valleys and layered gray Dolomite ridges extend beneath a partly cloudy blue sky.
Story
Captured on 17 June 2018 from Troi di Tuei at approximately 2,363 metres, the photograph looks across the highland terrain of Monte Pic toward the Val Gardena valley and surrounding mountains. Small yellow and purple flowers, exposed gray rocks, dark coniferous forest and a distant settlement add detail to the wide natural scene. The location is within the Alpe Seurasas Landscape Protection Area.
