A broad mountain valley extends beneath layered ridges and rugged peaks in Glacier National Park, Montana. Dense conifer forests, green slopes, exposed rock, small snow patches and dramatic clouds create a detailed autumn landscape viewed from the Going-to-the-Sun Road near Logan Pass.

Captured on September 1, 2015, the image looks across and down into a high mountain valley along Going-to-the-Sun Road.
