Description
This panoramic landscape looks across a deep Alpine valley from an elevated viewpoint near Eisten in Valais, Switzerland. Rugged peaks, scattered clouds, small snow patches, forested slopes, settlements and rocky foreground vegetation create a layered summer mountain scene.
Story
Captured in August from an elevated viewpoint at approximately 2,275 metres, the image looks across layered mountain slopes toward distant peaks partly framed by clouds. Small snow patches remain visible on the higher mountains, while the valley contains roads, settlements and green cultivated or forested slopes. Rocky ground, grasses, shrubs and trees add depth to the foreground. The supplied GPS location identifies the viewpoint near Eisten in the Visp district of Valais; the folder context also associates the panorama with the Alpe Hannig area near Grächen.
