Story
Captured in August 2017 from the approach to Hohlaubgrat at approximately 3,456 metres, the image looks across steep alpine terrain in Valais, Switzerland. Layered snowfields and fractured ice dominate the centre, while dark rock bands and a pointed rocky summit create contrast beneath a thin veil of cloud. The scene is associated with the Hohlaub Glacier and Allalin massif area.
