Description
A tall waterfall cascades through a steep, layered-rock gorge at Takakkaw Falls near Field, British Columbia. Mist surrounds the lower cascades, while sparse evergreen trees and a narrow rocky trail shape the foreground. The photograph was captured in summer within Yoho National Park of Canada.
Story
Captured on 20 August 2015, the image looks upward from the Takakkaw Falls access path in Yoho National Park of Canada. The central waterfall drops from an upper cleft in dark, layered rock, forming spray and smaller cascades among boulders. A narrow dirt trail crosses the rocky foreground beneath a cloudy sky, while scattered evergreen trees occupy the lower slopes and ridgelines.
