Description
A ground-level panoramic view looks upward through a dense giant sequoia forest on Sherman Tree Trail in Sequoia National Park, California. Massive reddish-brown trunks, green foliage, filtered sunlight, fallen logs, railings, benches, and small visitors create a strong sense of scale.
Story
Captured in autumn 2011, the image looks upward through a dense sequoia grove at approximately 2,108 metres elevation. Two enormous reddish-brown trunks dominate the foreground, while smaller trees, green foliage, fallen logs, benches, railings, and visitors extend into the sunlit forest background. The scene documents the scale and natural texture of the Giant Forest area without identifying the General Sherman Tree as visible in the frame.
