Description
This panoramic alpine landscape shows a snow-covered mountain massif with extensive glacier fields, crevasses, dark rocky ridges, and clouds around the upper summit. Story
Captured on 18 July 2008, the image looks from an elevated viewpoint toward a broad glaciated mountain massif near the Monte Rosa area. Snow and ice cover the central slopes, while fractured glacier surfaces, dark rock faces, and ridges add texture across the lower and middle sections. A dense cloud band crosses the upper mountain beneath a blue summer sky.
