A tall waterfall descends through a rugged rocky gorge into a fast-flowing river, with mist, boulders, exposed rock strata, and dense conifers surrounding the scene. Captured in summer on Emerald Lake Loop Trail in Yoho National Park, British Columbia.
Story
The waterfall drops from a narrow cleft in the cliff and spreads into a broad plume before continuing over lower rock shelves. Mist and spray surround the base, while exposed gray and brown rock, boulders, dense conifers, and a pale river shape the foreground. Heavy clouds create subdued natural light and emphasize the textures of this Canadian Rocky Mountain landscape.
